Starting up, or forming a company in the UK almost 10 years ago was horrendous for many people and exasperating not least of all because of all the red tape. More recently though, the time it takes in forming a company has been cut down dramatically and currently if you are looking to go into business in the UK today it can be all done in a matter of 2 days.

The whole process from inquiry to finish only depends on you and off course if the name you have chosen is copyrighted. Its vitally important you check available names carefully, don`t change the spelling to match an established name this may land you in hot soup. Trying to confuse potential clients with your companies name – if its a missplet, may invoke legal action by the owner of that name. Determine if you are going to trade as a limited company or llp (limited liability partnership) and off course remember to let HMRC know your trading for tax reasons.
