Forming a company 10 years ago was horrendous for many people and exasperating not least of all because of all the red tape. More recently though, the time it takes to form a business has been cut down dramatically and currently if you are looking to go into business in the UK today it can be all done in a matter of 2 days. Setting up a company really is easy requiring only your own details, who are the shareholders,sign up and your live. You do not even have to have a company secretary any more, due to changes in business legislation.
Your accountant or solicitor can help you form your company or if you wish, you can do the whole process online using a company formation website. Your first step is choose a business name (check its not already taken) Choose a name your happy with, be creative often a name matching your brand is the best. The whole process from inquiry to finish only depends on you and off course if the name you have chosen is copyrighted. Its vitally important you check available names carefully, dont change the spelling to match an established name this may land you in hot soup. Trying to confuse potential clients with your companies name – if its a missplet, may invoke legal action by the owner of that name.
Its essentially correct, if its an established name you are trying to copy, the company may well have more popularity. Next, ensure all your documentation is correct and in order and correctly filled in. Next step, fil the documents online or use a solicitor, accountant as needed with companies house. Ensure you have paid all the fees for your company setup to shorted the time it takes to process your application. The fee for setting up a company is not a great idea and is only affected if you choose to do it yourself or employ another to do it.
Payment of these fees off course will get your company live so you can start trading and developing your empire.
